City of Rochester Chief of Staff and Former Obama White House Aide Alex Yudelson today secured the endorsement of the Monroe County Democratic Committee in his campaign to represent the 138th District in the New York State Assembly. He defeated Assemblymember Harry Bronson, a ten-year incumbent in the seat, receiving the majority of votes cast by committee members in the popular vote and the majority of individual committees from both the city of Rochester and the towns of Chili and Henrietta.
“I am overwhelmed by the support we received throughout the designating process, and want to thank every single person who showed that they believe in this campaign,” said Yudelson. “This victory clearly demonstrates that our community is ready for bold change and a new generation of leadership, and for a representative who will finally be willing to reject the status quo and fight for Rochester’s fair share.”
Alex’s campaign is focused on four core goals: creating and protecting jobs, improving education for all children, strengthening our shared bonds of community, and defending democracy from special interests. These goals all are focused on the people he will serve, not the big-money donors in Albany and New York City. He will not be taking campaign contributions from PACs or corporations, instead running a campaign that is focused on the people of Rochester, Henrietta, and Chili.
The Democratic primary will be held on June 23, 2020 and the general election will be held on November 3, 2020.
